• Growth notes and observations

Photos

When you use the AI identification or health diagnosis features, we process photos you take of your plants. Photos are:

• Sent to our AI service for analysis
• Stored in your plant collection if you choose to save them
• Not shared with other users unless you explicitly choose to

Usage Data

We automatically collect certain information about how you interact with the Service, including:

• Feature usage patterns (e.g., which features you use most)
• Gamification data (XP, levels, badges, streaks, quest progress)
• App session duration and frequency

Device Information

Subscription Information

We do not directly collect or store payment card details. All payment processing is handled by Apple.

• Track your gamification progress (XP, levels, badges, quests)
• Personalize your experience through EVE, our AI companion

• Monitor and analyze usage trends to improve the Service

AI Processing

PlantLyfe uses OpenAI's GPT-4o with Vision for plant identification and care recommendations. When you use AI features:

• Plant photos are sent to OpenAI's API for processing
• We do not send personal identifiers (name, email, account ID) to OpenAI
• Only the plant image and relevant care context are transmitted
• OpenAI processes data in accordance with their privacy policy
• AI-generated responses are not used to train third-party models

Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored using Google Firebase services, including:

• Firebase Authentication for secure account management
• Cloud Firestore for plant data, care schedules, and user preferences
• Firebase Storage for plant photos
• Firebase Cloud Messaging for push notifications

We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS) and at rest, Firebase Security Rules to restrict data access, and regular security audits. However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Third-Party Services

PlantLyfe integrates with the following third-party services:

• Google Firebase — Authentication, database, storage, hosting, and analytics
• OpenAI — AI-powered plant identification and care recommendations
• Superwall — Subscription paywall management
• Apple App Store — App distribution and in-app purchases

Each third-party service operates under its own privacy policy. We encourage you to review their respective policies.

Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you the Service. You can request data deletion at any time:
